1. Scope & who we are

ALIGA Pty Ltd (ABN 15614305458) (“ALIGA”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an RPEQ-certified, ISO-accredited consultancy based on the Gold Coast, Australia. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) across our website, online forms, careers submissions, procurement workflows and related interactions (“Services”).

2. Lawful basis & consent

We collect and handle personal information when one or more of the following applies:

  • Consent: you give consent (e.g., submitting forms, opting in to marketing or providing sensitive information);
  • Contractual necessity: to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you/your organisation;
  • Legal/regulatory obligation: where we must collect, retain or disclose information under law (e.g., safety, procurement or record-keeping);
  • Other permitted grounds: as allowed by the Privacy Act and APPs.

By submitting information through our Services you consent to the collection, use and disclosure described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time (this may affect our ability to provide certain Services).

3. What we collect

  • Identity & contact: name, organisation, role, email, phone, mailing details;
  • Professional/recruitment: CV/resume, qualifications (e.g., RPEQ), licences, referees, right-to-work (as applicable);
  • Project/engagement: scopes, site/corridor details, authority references, submissions and attachments;
  • Authority/shared data: information shared with us by government or client authorities for project delivery (handled only for the purpose provided and consistent with APPs);
  • Technical/telemetry: IP address, device/browser, pages viewed, session metadata (see Cookies & analytics);
  • Preferences & communication settings;
  • Sensitive information only where necessary and with consent (e.g., health/safety notes for site attendance).

4. How we collect

  • Directly from you via contact and careers forms, emails, phone calls or meetings;
  • Through procurement portals and client authorities when you nominate us to receive information;
  • Recruitment activities (applications, referees, checks as permitted by law);
  • Site attendance, induction and safety documentation required by law or client policy;
  • Automatically via our website and systems (see Cookies & analytics).

5. How we use personal information

  • Responding to enquiries and providing proposals (RFQ/RFT/panel call-offs/variations);
  • Delivering consulting, engineering and client-side project management services;
  • Managing relationships with client authorities, subcontractors and alliance partners;
  • Complying with legal, regulatory and safety obligations (e.g., inductions, record-keeping);
  • Recruitment, talent engagement and workforce provisioning;
  • Operating, securing and improving our website, analytics and user experience;
  • Sending updates/marketing with your consent (opt-out available at any time).

6. Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Client authorities/stakeholders (e.g., TMR, QR, councils, utilities) as necessary for a project;
  • Professional advisers, auditors, insurers and legal representatives;
  • Specialist suppliers/subcontractors engaged for delivery or tender support;
  • Technology/operational service providers (e.g., website hosting, email, analytics, document and booking systems such as Google and Calendly);
  • Regulators or law enforcement where required by law; and
  • Another entity in connection with a reorganisation, merger or asset transfer (subject to confidentiality).

7. Overseas transfers

Some providers or data locations may be overseas. Where personal information is transferred outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients protect it consistently with the APPs (for example, via contractual safeguards).

8. Security & retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect against misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Although we implement appropriate measures, no method is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention: we keep information for periods required by law and our operational needs. As a guide:

  • Project and procurement records: typically up to 7 years (or longer if required by contract/law);
  • General enquiries: up to 2 years;
  • Candidate (recruitment) data: up to 12 months if not engaged, unless you request earlier deletion;
  • Website analytics: in accordance with the provider’s standard retention once consented.

Information no longer required is securely destroyed or de-identified where feasible.

9. Access & correction

You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information. We will respond within a reasonable period and consistent with the APPs. If access or correction is refused (as permitted by law), we will provide written reasons and explain how to complain.

10. Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies for site functionality without consent. Non-essential cookies (e.g., Google Analytics 4 for performance and usage insights) are activated only if you consent via our cookie banner. You can change your browser settings to manage cookies at any time.

11. Marketing communications

With your consent (or as otherwise permitted by law), we may send updates about ALIGA’s services, projects and opportunities. You can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

12. Notifiable Data Breaches

If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will promptly assess and, where required under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) NDB scheme, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) — ordinarily within the 30-day assessment timeframe.

Please contact us first so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology or our practices. The “Effective date” below indicates the latest revision. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
